We are a group of women from Sheffield and the surrounding area who love singing. Our Group has been active since 1978 and we sing a wide range of songs from traditional barbershop to A Capella versions of some old ABBA favourites! We love nothing more than going all over Sheffield to sing for audiences in charity events, weddings, parties and shows! You name it – we’ll be there!
Barbershop is arranged in four parts: bass, baritone, lead and tenor. With four parts there is something to suit every voice and we are always on the look out for new members! We meet every Monday night at the Bents Green Methodist Church on Ringinglow Road, just opposite the shops and Bents Green Post Office, Sheffield. We start at 7:30pm and we sing until about 10:15pm. Everyone is welcome! All you need is an interest in singing and the barbershop style! You don’t even have to be able to read music!
Every year we compete at the Sweet Adelines Convention. This consists of a regional convention held somewhere in the United Kingdom. The winners of this competition then go to the International Convention in America to meet with the winners of competitions in 34 other regions all over the globe. Our region is called the ‘Quartet of Nations’ and we are region 31. To learn more about barbershop in the UK please click here. The Competition is tough but also a lot of fun
We currently have 27 members, and are always on the lookout for new ones!
